SCHOOL ANSWERING MACHINE

This is the message that apparently a Secondary School staff in the
Midlands voted unanimously to record on their school telephone answering
Machine.

This is the actual answering machine message for the school. It came
About because they implemented a policy requiring students and Parents
To be responsible for their children's absences and missing homework.

The school and teachers are now being threatened with legal action by
Some parents who want their children's failing marks changed to passing
Marks - even though those children were absent 15-30 times during the
Term and did not complete enough schoolwork to pass their various key
Stages.

The outgoing message:

"Hello! You have reached the automated answering service of your school.

In order to assist you in connecting to the right member of staff,
Please listen to all the options before making a selection:

* To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1

* To make excuses for why your child did not do his/her work- Press 2

* To complain about what we do - Press 3

* To swear at staff members - Press 4

* To ask why you didn't get information that was already enclosed in
Your Newsletter and several other letters posted to you - Press 5

* If you want us to bring up your child - Press 6

* If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit someone - Press 7

* To request another teacher, for the third time this year -Press 8

* To complain about bus transport - Press 9

* To complain about school lunches - Press 0

LASTLY:

If you realize this is the real world and your child must be accountable
And responsible for his/her own behaviour, class work, homework and that

it's not the teachers' fault for your child's lack of effort:
Hang up and have a really wonderful day!

If you want this in other languages, you must be in the wrong country.
This is England.

10 COMMANDMENTS OF MARRIAGE

Commandment 1 : Marriages are made in heaven, but so again, are
thunder and lightning.

Commandment 2 : If you want your spouse to listen and pay strict
attention to every word you say, talk in your sleep.

Commandment 3 : Marriage is grand -- and divorce is at least 100 grand!

Commandment 4 : Married life is very frustrating. In the first year
of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year,
the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both
speak and the neighbors listen.

Commandment 5 : When a man opens the door of his car for his wife,
you can be sure of one thing: Either the car is new or the wife is!

Commandment 6 : Marriage is when a man and woman become as one, the
trouble starts when they try to decide which one.

Commandment 7 : Before marriage, a man will lie awake all night
thinking about something you said. After marriage, he will fall
asleep before you finish.

Commandment 8 : Every man wants a wife who is beautiful, understanding,
economical, and a good cook. But the law allows only one wife.

Commandment 9 : Every woman wants a man who is handsome, understanding,
economical and a considerate lover, but again, the law allows only
one husband.

Commandment 10 : Man is incomplete until he marries. After that, he
is finished.

Want Happiness

A student goes to Mulla Nazaruddin, a Sufi master, with a bundle of dresses, surrenders to him and says - O' divine master, I want peace; I wanthappiness. The master looked at him. He has left his house with only this bundle with him. Mulla slowly gets up snatches the bundle of dresses andstarts running. The student is surprised. "I came in search ofhappiness andthe master snatches my dresses and run away." The perplexed student tells himself, "Let me at least get my dresses back" and charges after him.

Mulla knows all the lanes of the town very well. He just appears anddisappears and the student is very unhappy at the loss of his dresses. He was such unhappy. By coming to him, he has become more and moreunhappy. Hekeeps running behind Mulla. Mulla goes all round, comes back to his originalspot, keeps the bundle aside and innocently sits down.

The student comes running to him. Seeing this dangerous fellow, first thinghe does is to snatch his dresses. He is so happy that he has his dresses back.

Mulla says - HERE IS HAPPINESS.

Please see, the student was unhappy when he came to Mulla. Mulla just snatched the bundle and returned it back to him. The student was happy thathe had got back his dress. So what was the cause of happiness?

Logically it appears his happiness is because of the dress. But then, this bundle was with him even before it was snatched away by the master. Therefore where did the happiness come from, the dresses or from somewhereelse?

Happiness has come from within and it is not because of the dresses. This is exactly how we feel in our life - that this object or that has given us happiness.
