Is making mistake better than doing nothing

" A Life Spent making more mistakes & learning from it is not only Honourable, but more useful than a life spent in doing Nothing".

thus this says that we have to commit mistakes to grow up???

    if same mistakes are repeated, then it proves we have not learnt the lesson taught by the mistake.
